Healthcare Automation Announces Conversion Service for MBI Software Customers

Warwick, RI (December 1, 2005) - Healthcare Automation, Inc. (HAI) is pleased to announce the launch of a conversion service for users of Management By Information (MBI)'s Home IV Manager 4.x series and MBI Homecare 5.x series products. The service is a customized implementation that is based on the way MBI users are familiar with running their business and smoothly translates these processes into the standard processes, using HAI's advanced software, HomecareNet.

"Changing information systems is especially challenging in today's home care environment," says HAI's CEO Ken Pereira. "For MBI users, the stakes are even higher. With the merger of MBI and Definitive Homecare Solutions, MBI users may be faced with the loss of key support and development personnel they depend on for software support and updates to comply with regulatory changes and pressure to convert to the CPR+ product that is based on Foxpro technology."

The MBI to HomecareNet Conversion Service was developed in conjunction with MBI users with the MBI user in mind. It includes:

  • Pre-conversion analysis of their existing data to support HomecareNet setup that closely matches the setup of their existing system.
  • Automated data conversion so users can see their old data in the new system before they begin the training process and eliminate tedious data entry of existing data
  • Free six month subscription to the Home Infusion Reports service from Rock-Pond Solutions to generate reports from the MBI and HomecareNet systems to support the business needs before, during and after the conversion process
  • Detailed MBI-to-HomecareNet conversion plan to expedite the conversion process and ease the transition to HomecareNet

HomecareNet's design is especially suited for MBI customers due to the similarities in key processes and the addition of many features that have been developed using state-of-the-art database design and development tools. In addition, HomecareNet is the only product available for integrated homecare providers who wish to support their home infusion, DME, home health and hospice operations with one solution. The addition of HL7 interfaces and high powered field automation solutions for clinicians through the recent acquisition of Encounter Technologies are two of the many new benefits MBI users will take advantage of once they have transitioned to HomecareNet. HomecareNet, while meeting the critical needs for home care providers today, is well positioned as the system of choice for the future.

While Healthcare Automation can accommodate the conversion of data from most systems to HomecareNet, the MBI situation is more urgent. MBI customers may be concerned about the longevity of their software and support and increased financial risk. Our conversion service allows us to provide a solution now for the critical situation MBI users find themselves in.

Any home infusion, DME or home health providers interested in taking advantage of this innovative conversion program can visit www.healthcare-automation.com/convert.cfm to sign up for an online demo of HomecareNet and the conversion process.
