Healthcare Automation, Inc. Launches HomecareNet On Demand — Software as a Service for Home Care Providers
Warwick, RI (October 3, 2006) -
Healthcare Automation, Inc. (HAI) is pleased to announce the launch of HomecareNet On Demand, a hosted version of the home care industry's leading operations and billing software.
In response to a growing industry need for hosted software solutions, HomecareNet On Demand has already attracted interest in the marketplace. "Customers can get the robust features of HomecareNet without the investment in hardware and implementation costs," says HAI CEO Ken Pereira. "We're using the 'software as a service' or SaaS model to provide the marketplace with a seamless implementation to enable rapid deployment of HomecareNet in any enterprise."
Software as service (SaaS) is an emerging category of software delivery that allows clients to subscribe to software, rather than purchase a license and hardware. The software is hosted and maintained offsite at HIPPA ready locations and is accessed via an internet connection.
"This is an ideal situation for our clients who are just getting started or who are bringing on new business lines without an investment in licensing and hardware costs," says Pereira. "HomecareNet On Demand is offered for a low monthly fee and that's it." Included in that monthly fee are HomecareNet licenses, server and other hardware maintenance and all necessary training to start using the software.
Launched in 2003, HomecareNet is state-of-the-art, Windows-based software that serves the home infusion, DME/RT and home health and hospice industries. Utilizing SQL Server, HomecareNet manages everything from patient intake to prescription orders and scheduling, through billing and collections. Traditionally, clients have needed to purchase hardware — including SQL Server — and additional software in order to implement software for home care providers. HomecareNet On Demand eliminates those requirements by hosting all hardware and software in a secure data center. The center is fully HIPAA compliant and utilizes built-in redundancy, maximizing system uptime. Backups are maintained by the data center and provided to clients on a constant basis.
"We're thrilled to be able to offer the functionality of HomecareNet to a larger audience with HomecareNet On Demand," says Pereira. "Organizations without information technology staff benefit from the fact that they don't have to install servers or manage hardware. He adds that HomecareNet On Demand is flexible and designed to grow as a business grows. New users and sites can be added quickly and easily.
The hosted model allows organizations to accelerate implementation efforts with a set of starter data that will allow users to start scheduling, filling prescriptions and billing almost immediately.
