Healthcare Automation Announces HomecareNet Release

Warwick, RI (January 29, 2003) - Healthcare Automation is pleased to announce the official release of HomecareNet, its next generation integrated software solution, effective January 2003. HomecareNet 1.0 will support the needs of home health and hospice organizations with pharmacy functionality being added later in 2003.

HomecareNet, a JAVA application built upon a SQL Server database, is a comprehensive clinical, financial, and administrative application designed to meet the needs of all home health agencies--certified, private duty and hospice. HomecareNet provides homecare professionals with state-of-the-art HIPAA compliant tools that streamline patient management, scheduling, billing, A/R and reporting. Designed to support businesses with one or multiple offices, HomecareNet's flexible configuration and unmatched depth of functionality allow homecare providers to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.

The commercial release of HomecareNet follows an extensive six month beta trial with a client that provides a variety of home care services. Engineers, clinical and operations staff from both organizations worked closely together refining the implementation and training processes, testing system performance and identifying additional functionality for future development.

"HomecareNet is a unique product of significant value to our clients and all homecare providers. It brings the expertise Healthcare Automation has gained over the past fifteen years to our clients through an entirely new 'point and click' user interface and utilizes an industry leading SQL Server database. HomecareNet employs proven state of the art technology throughout our product, rather than attempting to simply put a GUI front-end on top of existing, older databases. This approach provides the best path for our clients to realize fast and reliable performance today through a software platform well positioned to take advantage of future technology enhancements over the next decade," says William Hackett, Healthcare Automation's President.

As HomecareNet truly is the first integrated homecare application, for the homecare providers who offer a combination of home health, hospice, pharmacy and RT/DME services, HomecareNet affords even greater value. Providers that currently use two or more applications to manage their homecare business will realize significant savings in time and money by using HomecareNet to manage all patients in one integrated database.

Mr. Hackett continues, "The release of HomecareNet demonstrates our commitment to providing quality applications to support client growth and success. While HomecareNet 1.0 is the outward result of our recent efforts, internal changes have been aimed at making us better prepared to meet our clients' needs. Examples of these changes include significantly expanding the quality assurance department, dedicating experienced, senior level staff to implementation and adding a talented instructional design expert to enhance our training capabilities."
