Healthcare Automation, Inc. Acquires Encounter Technology Solutions, Inc., Broadening Its Integrated Software Solution

Warwick, RI (January 11, 2005) - Healthcare Automation, Inc. (HAI), an innovator in home healthcare software, announced today that it has acquired the assets of Encounter Technology Solutions, Inc. ("ETS") of Atlanta, GA.

"Several of our important customers have successfully implemented Encounter's palm-based clinical point of care system," said Ken Pereira, CEO of HAI, "Our software has already been integrated for all disciplines of home healthcare operations. The business combination made perfect sense."

Curtis Eade and Kay Wetherbee, the founders of ETS, join HAI as part of the transaction, complementing HAI's team of over sixty professionals serving home care orginizations throughout the USA .

The point of care software, developed by ETS, operates using Palm OS devices and is integrated with HomecareNet, HAI's Windows-based operations and financial software for home care and hospice agencies as well as home infusion and DME companies.

Clinicians use the ETS software and the palm device to record OASIS and assessment data, clinical notes, medications, and other key information during a visit at the patient's home. Admissions and clinical data flows between HAI's HomecareNet system and the ETS system seamlessly, allowing administrative staff to exchange critical information with clinicians in the field. A clinician's schedule is maintained and synchronized between the office and the clinician's palm device through a direct or wireless connection; completed visits become available for immediate billing.
