An Integrated Solution

Hand held devices (PDAs) extend the functionality of HomecareNet into the field. They capture and deliver patient data back to the home office more efficiently than paper based systems, eliminating duplicate data entry and expediting the billing process.

For agencies on tight budgets, PDAs offer a low cost hardware alternative to laptops and tablets.

The Encounter application runs on any Palm OS PDA as a third-party application.  This application enables the user to record encounter data using a pen based interface.  The palm device user creates an encounter and begins to select elements of the encounter.  For example, begin an encounter by pressing the start time button, select a patient, select a location, select an activity(s), select procedures, select supplies, select vital signs, select travel expenses and mileage, record e-signatures, record comments, press end time button and select confirm to complete the encounter.  Each of these elements of the encounter is managed and maintained by the host so that all that is required of the palm device user is to select from lists.   We have designed the application interface to adhere as best as possible to a two-step selection process (i.e. chose a group and then the item).

OASIS and Clinical Component Modules are designed to provide maximum flexibility and ease of entry.  OASIS modules can be used independently or in classes to allow the user to proceed quickly through an OASIS section, e.g. ADL/IADL.  Clinical modules are also available for quickly and comprehensively building your form(s).  There are over 150 modules to choose from and they provide standardized documentation formats while retaining the ability to document patient specific elements in narrative for each module.
